What is Udyam registration
Udyam registration is the official process by which a business is recognised as a Micro, Small or Medium Enterprise (MSME) in India. It replaced the older Udyog Aadhaar system and is done online. Once registered, your business receives a Udyam Registration Certificate with a unique number.
Importantly, there is no government fee for Udyam registration.
Who is eligible
Both manufacturing and service businesses can register, provided they fall within the investment and turnover limits defined for micro, small and medium enterprises. Proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs and companies can all apply.
Key benefits of MSME registration
Registration unlocks a range of government benefits:
- Access to subsidies and government schemes
- Eligibility for collateral-free loan schemes
- Priority sector lending from banks
- Protection against delayed payments from buyers
- Preference and relaxations in government tenders
- Concessions on certain fees and certifications
Documents required
- Aadhaar of the proprietor or authorised partner/director
- PAN of the business or proprietor
- Basic business and activity details
- Investment and turnover information
- Bank account details
A common mistake to avoid
Because the process looks simple, many owners rush it and enter incorrect classification or activity codes. This can cause problems when claiming benefits or applying for schemes later. Accuracy matters more than speed.
How Aidwish helps
Aidwish completes your Udyam registration accurately, with the correct classification, and then guides you on the subsidies, schemes and loans the registration makes you eligible for — so you actually use the benefits, not just hold the certificate.
